About St Gilbert’s Festival

New for 2018 is the St. Gilbert’s Festival. The brainchild of Dornoch Cathedral’s minister Rev. Susan Brown, this is a week-long celebration of St Gilbert who founded the cathedral in 1224.

Sunday 1st—Sunday 8th April

St Gilbert’s Walk—collect map from Dornoch Bookshop, Dornoch Stores & Cocoa Mountain. Flower displays in the Cathedral from Tuesday. Sales tables in the Cathedral 11 am—3pm Monday—Saturday. Monk display outside shops.

Sunday 1st April

Sunrise service on the beach followed by breakfast in the West Church Hall

11 am Easter Sunday service in the Cathedral

6:30 pm Emmaus Service in the Cathedral.

Monday 2nd April

3 pm Easter Egg Hunt in Camore Woods £3

(children must be accompanied by an adult)

6-7 pm Under 12 years Kids’ Disco West Church Hall £3

Tuesday 3rd April

10 am Blessings Workshop in the West Church Hall

7:30 pm Concert in the Cathedral, local artists

‘For the Young at Heart to the Young at Heart’

Wednesday 4th April

9:30-11:30 am Cathedral Tower open

9:30 am—1 pm Community Festival Market in the West Church Hall

Thursday 5th April

11 am Treasure Hunt on Cathedral Green. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday 6th April

10 am— 12-noon Baking Stall on Cathedral Green with Gargoyle Quiz Sheets for children

7 pm Quiz Night in the West Church Hall £5 (BYOB)

Saturday 7th April

10 am—12 noon Tea & Coffee in the West Church Hall. Children’s Art on display (prize for best work)

Best Monk to be picked (shop displays)

7:30-8:30 pm Dornoch Pipe Band plays in Dornoch Square

7-9 pm Cathedral Tower open

Sunday 8th April

11 am Service in the Cathedral

12 pm Soup & Sweet lunch in the West Church Hall

6:30 pm Songs of Praise in the Cathedral
