By car from the town centre, go west along Caste Street, turn right at the War Memorial, and then turn right to join the A9 at the Trentham Hotel.  After a mile you will see a brown sign on the right for Skelbo Forest Walk. Turn down this road and then turn left into the car park at the Forestry Commission sign.

Description: A great family walk. Follow the trail of carved wooden animals through this lovely wood, 3 miles north of Dornoch. Pass the pond and picnic area as you walk through Scots Pine woodland towards Skelbo Burn. During this walk you will also see the remains of a 2000 year old Broch, as well as enjoy great sea views and beautiful wildflowers in summer.

There is a picnic table at the car park.
