Dornoch enjoys a mild climate, and has a very low annual rainfall (~25"). Surrounded by sea, Dornoch is protected from the extremes of weather and thrives in its own microclimate. There are very few days in the winter that the Golf Course is closed for frost or snow. Visitors who join us for New Year are pleasantly surprised to find that the weather is often suitable for golf and always for walking.

Our northern latitude ensures that we have long summer evenings - indeed, in July it is only dark for a few hours. There is plenty time for evening golf or tennis, or a walk along the beach after dinner.
