Things to do

Dornoch is lucky enough to be sandwiched between the Dornoch Firth (an area of outstanding natural beauty) and Loch Fleet nature reserve (where bird lovers from around the world congregate and ospreys can be seen diving for fish at dusk). The Sutherland hills are a short drive away and there are forest walks nearby.

The Highland Council's Countryside Ranger service publishes a guide to summer walks and events hosted by guides who know the area inside out. Their events are highly recommended, as they are all free and will show you aspects of our landscape and wildlife you might never otherwise see.
